About ABP

The Alliance of Beauty Practitioners (ABP) is a UK-based, not-for-profit beauty industry organisation providing independent accreditation, training resources and professional support for beauty educators and training providers.

Our aim is simple: to help raise the standard of beauty education by promoting training that is safe, well-structured, professionally delivered and appropriate for the treatments being taught.

Experience behind ABP

ABP was developed from decades of experience in education, beauty training and course development. Its founders brought together experience in teaching, professional beauty practice, training delivery and course development, with the organisation shaped around the needs of learners, tutors and training academies.

That educational background remains central to the way ABP approaches accreditation. We believe a good beauty course should do more than simply contain the right information: it should have clear learning outcomes, a logical structure, appropriate assessment and provide learners with the knowledge and practical understanding they need to work safely and professionally.

Our approach

ABP is committed to practical, proportionate accreditation. We want standards to be meaningful without creating unnecessary bureaucracy for training providers.

Our focus is on whether training is safe, professionally structured, educationally sound and suitable for the treatment or subject being taught.

People behind ABP

ABP brings together experience in professional education, beauty, nail technology, holistic therapies and course development. Our founders each contribute different areas of expertise to the organisation and its educational resources.

Sian Llewellyn

A qualified teacher and experienced beauty educator, Sian has worked in education and vocational training for almost 40 years, alongside more than 20 years in nail technology and professional beauty therapy education.

As the founder of Nail Divas and Nail Training Academy, she has extensive experience in writing and delivering professional training courses. Her educational background helps shape ABP’s approach to course structure, learning outcomes, assessment and teaching standards.

Dawn Regan

Dawn is the founder of Zen Therapy Training Online and has over 20 years’ experience as a therapist, beginning in holistic therapies before progressing into specialist body sculpting and advanced non-surgical facial aesthetics. She has been a qualified trainer for over 15 years and has extensive experience in course writing, training-manual development and supporting beauty and holistic practitioners to become training providers.

Alongside her specialist treatment knowledge, Dawn contributes to ABP’s course development and educational resources and is our go-to specialist for providers seeking the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET). She is also developing her own trademarked sculpting courses, supported by a bespoke range of professionally formulated treatment oils.

Michelle Collins

Michelle brings extensive practical and training experience from across the professional beauty industry. Her specialist knowledge of beauty treatments and training contributes to ABP’s course development and helps ensure that accreditation standards remain relevant to the realities of professional beauty practice.
